Cagney, Geuliette, Lacey and Cookie Groups: STEM Fair Week of January 23, 2017

Hypothesis and/or Summary of Science behind your project is Due Monday, January 23.

The hypothesis is for projects that are traditional science fair projects.

The summary is required for any project that is a build, or non-traditional project that does not have a hypothesis.

STEM FAIR UPDATE: Week of January 16, 2017

STEM Fair:  The final draft of your procedure and materials list is due 1/17/17.  You should be starting the data collection part of your project.  The hypothesis-or summary-of your project is due on 1/23.  The summary is ONLY required for those projects which are a build, and not a traditional science fair project.  The summary should include an explanation of the science behind your project.  Please let me know if you have any questions regarding this.  My email is

Workday this week for STEM fair will be on Thursday, 1/19.  Students may work on their hypothesis, procedure, or summary on this day.

MS Science: Cagney and Geuliette Groups Week of December 5, 2016

We will have classwork that includes Newton’s 2nd Law problems as well as speed and acceleration problems.  Classwork becomes homework only if not completed in class.

Test on Speed, Acceleration and Newton’s Laws will be given next Tuesday, December 13.  Students will receive a study guide this Friday.

There will be a quiz on speed and acceleration problems this Friday, 12/2.  There will be no study guide for the quiz.  Please review speed and acceleration problem worksheets we have done in class.

MS Science with Mrs. McVay: Cagney and Geuliette Groups Week of November 14, 2016

We will be constructing our balloon racers this week.  Please make sure you bring in a container and 4 items to use as wheels for your car.  A 1 qt. box (broth, milk) works well, but bottles may also be used.  Bottlecaps make good wheels.

There is classwork this week-it becomes homework if not completed in class.  I am attaching a copy of the worksheet if you need to complete at home.


Please bring calculators to class every day.
