English HW: Cagney, Cookie, Annabel, Geuliette, & Lacey

Cagney HW:

Do some research and come up with ways in which humans use animal behavior to tell other people something.  Use examples. (We went over several in class) This should be 3 paragraphs, with 5 sentences in each, and written in their composition notebooks.  This is due on Monday!  

Cookie & Annabel HW:

Write a brief response explaining which of these poems you preferred.  In your response,give specific examples from the poem. (The poems were The Wreck of the Hesperus by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and The Centaur by May Swenson).  The Cookie’s should write this assignment (2 paragraphs, 5 sentences in each) in their composition notebooks and the Annabel’s should write this (3 paragraphs, 5 sentences in each) on a loose leaf sheet of paper.  This assignment is due tomorrow.

***The students in both of these groups need to bring in a magazine, newspaper, etc. TOMORROW so we can cut words from several articles out. This will be for an activity next week.***

Geuliette HW:

From The Wreck of the Hesperus by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow:  Is the skipper responsible for his daughter’s death? Why or why not? In your response, give specific examples supporting your answer.  This should be 3 paragraphs, 5 sentences in each, and on a loose leaf sheet of paper.  This is due on Monday.

***The students in both of these groups need to bring in a magazine, newspaper, etc. so we can cut words from several articles out. This will be for an activity next week. I do not have them on Fridays, but will give them an extra 10 points if they bring in these materials tomorrow!!***

Lacey HW:

These students received two handouts in class, and had some time at the end of the class to work on them.  The worksheets are due tomorrow.
