Homework due tomorrow, December 16th – page 95 #1-13
If the students are not done with their English poetry project, they can bring in their supplies on Monday and have an extra day to work on them. Ther were supposed to have time on Friday to work on their projects but that did not work out, which is why I will give them an extra day to work on them. Directions: Create a poster board including the following information:
1. Include a picture of the poet (large)
2. Basic Biography (typed, 2 paragraphs)
3. Explain their influences and the first poem they ever wrote (typed, 3 paragraphs)
4. A fun fact about the poet (does not have to be typed)
5. Analyze a popular poem written by the poet (a copy of the poem should be on the poster, with notes next to each line)
Each item is worth 20 points, totaling 100 points. They will have class time on Friday to work on and part of this project, and the project is due Monday December 15th!!
Cagney HW: In your composition notebook, write 2 paragraphs answering the following question:
“Why is Pi drawn to various religions without seeming to pick one?”
Romeo HW: Complete pages 12-14, due tomorrow (worksheets handed out in class). We will go over page 15 together during class tomorrow.
Cookie HW: Each has a list of words (for a poetry project) that they must use to make up a poem. No matter how many words are on their list, they may only discard up to 5 words from their list and they must use the remaining words to make up a poem. They cannot add any words to their list!! If they do that, they will lost significant points on this assignment! Their rough draft of the poem is due tomorrow.
Lacey HW: Complete pages 12-14, due tomorrow (worksheets handed out in class). We will go over page 15 together during class tomorrow.
Geuliette HW: Write 2 paragraphs explaining which of the two recent poems we read in class that you preferred. Use examples. This is due tomorrow.
Lacey HW: Complete questions from the short story we read in class today. The worksheet is due tomorrow.
Chapter 4 Test is Friday. Worksheet is due on Wednesday.
